New South Wales Surfing

Anyone who has been surfing in NSW cannot help but notice the gorgeous coastline and the numerous surfing beaches that dot the entire coastline. It is a serious surfer’s paradise. No trip to the state is complete without checking out some of the best surfing in Sydney Australia.

Sydney itself is a great place to start. Surfing in Bondi Beach NSW in one of the most internationally-renowned places for surfing and fun is a great experience.

There are plenty of beach and point breaks around Sydney, so surfing lessons might be on the cards for you. It’s also a great opportunity to check out the sights of this exciting city, including Sydney Harbour Bridge and Darling Harbour.

If you want to get away from the crowds, and you’re enjoying a summer or autumn holiday, consider heading to northern NSW. Lennox Heads, Byron Bay, right up to Tweed Heads are all great opportunities in the first few months of the year. The vibe in these areas is also very relaxing and welcoming to newcomers.

The further south you go, particularly towards the Central Coast area, the better all-round surfing you find, for example, Newcastle. As you head south of Sydney, down to Wollongong, Kiama and Shell Harbour, you’ll get away from crowds a lot more, and find nice secluded places to surf.
